Well, the site is upgraded and ported over to the new host! Sorry for the downtime.

There was a problem copying over all the comments though, but they are still in my backup file so they're not lost! Feel free to post again, and I will surely get to all the feedback I had on my programs.

The story starts off with me needing a new computer. In my job I need a laptop, and I am a big fan of the large screens, even if it means I need to pump it up on my back exercises to carry the thing. That's what health insurance is for, right?

There is also this thing about always "needing" the latest and greatest technology, and as luck would have it, the wonderful i7 CPU was just released for the mobile market!

I was never a big Dr. Who fan, but this quote makes me want to watch some.

You know, the very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. They don’t alter their views to fit the facts. They alter the facts to fit their views. Which can be uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that need altering.

I've been playing with XUL a bit to get a feel for the capabilities and limitations, and so far it's been a little stop and go. Writing simple applications is super easy, but if you need to build something with any kind of interactive functionality (opening/saving files, for example) dealing with external libraries (XPCOM for example) is a pain.

Virtualizing desktops seems like a no brainer! No wrappers (well almost no wrappers), custom settings that are saved, upgrades are nice and easy. I love it!

Before I get into the different products I found, it might be useful to list what I am actually looking for in a hosted hypervisor (a hypervisor is essentially the piece of software/logic that handles dolling out the system's resources to the individual virtual machines. A "hosted" hypervisor is one that runs on top of an existing OS, as opposed to a "bare-metal" hypervisor that you have to install AS the OS. See the Wikipedia article for more info if you're curious.).

I took this picture out back in the same place a couple days ago. What caught me with this one is how it was the only dying leaf in an area of already dead leaves. If this were paintball, it would have won ;)

Played around with Photoshop filters a little. I tried to retain "normal" coloring while highlighting the center red leaf.

Sometimes when I need to take a break I head out behind my work by the water. This morning I thought I forgot my keys so I took a stroll out there and captured some neat pictures. Here is one.
